The Nigeria date vanished from the South African superstar’s world tour schedule; Nigerians aren’t exactly mourning.

Tyla, the multiple GRAMMY-winner known for her hit single ‘Water’, has quietly dropped Lagos from her ‘A*POP World Tour’, mere days after unveiling the full itinerary. The bustling city originally sat alongside Johannesburg and Cape Town on a thirty-four city schedule.
The removal follows a fierce online campaign amongst Nigerians, who launched a petition titled “Ban Tyla from entering Nigeria until xenophobic attacks stop in South Africa”. It swiftly gathered thousands of signatures, fuelled by mounting anger over reported attacks on Nigerian nationals living in South Africa. That includes the recent death of Chika Ibeh in Cape Town.
Burna was issued a warning; threatened to be killed years ago if he ever stepped foot in SA over his stance against AKA’s xenophobic stance. what did you all do about it? Instead you crucified your own. We did absolutely nothing.. They didn’t care. He took it like a gee; moved on…

Prominent Nigerian figures—including VeryDarkMan and OAP Dotun—urged fans to boycott the show. They described the campaign as a symbolic protest against the alleged Xenophobic/Afrophobic attacks targeting Nigerians in South Africa. She has yet to explain the change or confirm whether the concert has been cancelled, postponed or temporarily removed.
Tyla is still set to close the tour with shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg come January.
