Skip the queue: First-time US passport applications go online in 2027! Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the shake-up on Tuesday.
Applicants will use America.gov to upload their own photos, pay online and track progress in real time.
The new system ends photo runs at pharmacies and in-person appointments. However, fees still apply. Rubio wants most Americans to apply online by the end of 2027.
Whilst the rollout remains months away, the future looks paperless.
