Women in music shine brightly in his presence. More please!

Four days ago, Nigerian star Asake blessed his die-hard fans with the female-centric video for ‘Oba’—translated to “ruler” in English. In the Dulsé-directed visual, the ladies make music by strumming guitar strings, producing music with a beat machine, engineering the music and laying background vocals. Mr Money opens the album cut by stating that there are many women in his orbit; somehow it doesn’t stop him from working like a machine. If you ask me, the celebrated African icon may have found the balance because he seems to be a disciplined individual.
Without a doubt, the Lagos State-born performer was relaxed in his comfort zone at the time of this production. He recorded from the comfort of his seat, with a tower of styrofoam cups in hand. After all, he sings about living and embracing the star life.
In the next scene, he parleys with his female collaborators at an arcade. During this scene, he points out the feminine physique he relishes. Watch the approximately three-minute music video below. It is taken from his latest album, ‘M$NEY’.
Moreover, the stripped-down production reminds me of 2Pac’s posthumous 1997 hit ‘Do For Love’ or the Bobby Caldwell original.
