In 2019, Hoobler claims he spotted Lil Wayne while in New Orleans for a radio broadcast. When they ran into one other, he assured Hoobler that if he needed financial assistance, all he had to do was tell him when. Hoobler stated that while he has not yet accepted Wayne’s offer, he has spoken with his team about joining them in an administrative capacity.
In a recent episode of Emmanuel Acho’s ‘Uncomfortable Conversations’, Lil Wayne discussed his suicide attempt, adding that he had struggled with his mental health since he was ten years old.
The rapper revealed he attempted suicide because he was worried his mother would order him to stop rapping, so he called the police before walking into his mother’s room to get her gun. He had intended to shoot himself in the head, but changed his mind and decided to shoot himself in the chest, aiming for his heart.
He spoke about the attempt for the first time in 2018 and even worked as a suicide prevention aide while serving an eight-month sentence in Rikers for possessing a firearm in 2010.
