From the beginning of ‘Tornado’, Beninese-Nigeria’s global star artist Ayra Starr makes it clear that she doesn’t care what someone else has. However, if he wants her time and to remain in her presence, he should spend on her. Watch the Melchior Leroux direction for the 2X GRAMMY-nominated artist’s latest record below. It is from her forthcoming album ‘Starrgirl’, which comes out on August 14.

If you haven’t watched it yet, you should check her out on NPR’s Tiny Desk. Her performance has caused quite a stir online, X specifically with several comparisons to Rihanna and Tems vocally and past collaborator Tyla. Less than a year ago, they were all together in Lagos at Obi’s House. Can we have more of that energy when it comes to these African women?
