The NBA legend leaves the Lakers behind as Philadelphia lands one of basketball’s greatest players in a blockbuster signing.
LeBron James has officially chosen his next NBA destination, signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in one of the biggest free agency moves of 2026. After weeks of speculation linking the four-time NBA champion with several contenders, the basketball icon has decided to take his talents to Philadelphia, marking another historic chapter in his legendary career.
The move also reunites James with the Eastern Conference, where he built much of his legacy before joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. Furthermore, the 76ers now boast a formidable roster featuring Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and rookie VJ Edgecombe, instantly elevating their championship aspirations.
James continues his pursuit of a fifth NBA title as he prepares for what could become another memorable season. Consequently, all eyes will be on Philadelphia as the Sixers enter the 2026–27 campaign with renewed expectations.
