Disney and TikTok strike landmark content deal
Disney and TikTok have joined forces, whilst fans everywhere start dreaming up their next viral edit.

Disney and TikTok have struck a landmark deal. It is the first of its kind between a legacy studio and a social platform. Creators can now use scenes from Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and FX in short-form videos. Selected clips will stream on TikTok and inside a new “Verts” tab on Disney+.
The move signals a shift. Streaming giants are chasing vertical video, whilst younger viewers migrate towards bite-sized content. Consequently, Disney hopes the partnership sparks fresh discovery for its back catalogue.
TikTok’s Dawn Yang called creators “the heart” of the platform. Meanwhile, Disney’s Asad Ayaz described the tie-up as a bridge between storytelling and fan creativity.
The pilot launches in the US, with global expansion expected soon after.
