British-Nigerian artist Ego Ella May finds healing in the water, heads back ‘Back to Sea’: Watch

Ego Ella May is like us… We do what’s necessary to get to our places of comfort.

A month ago, British-Nigerian artist Ego Ella May released the official music video for ‘Back to Sea’. In the Jelani Pomell-directed visual, a driver escorts the performer to the beach. Obeying the speed limit, they slowly approach a boardwalk where others take walks and embrace.

The artist explained, “Inspired by Jessica Pratt and Labi Siffre. I’ve always wanted to make a folk/singer-songwriter type song, and I’m so glad I managed to achieve this on the album! The very last song. I made this with Tom Excell, and can we just listen to his beautiful guitar? I swoon every time! It’s about how much of a saving grace the sea is for me during times of overwhelm. When life gets tough, I return to the sea. I always feel renewed there. My dream is to own a home by the sea one day. When I think of that, I breathe a deep sigh of relief.”

According to the lyrics, when life gets hard, there’s a need to decompress at the sea. It seems to have therapeutic or healing properties, because of the smile that appeared on her face towards the end was worth it. Therefore, if you are in the market to find a tune that doesn’t disrupt your workflow, give this one a fair assessment.

The enchanting works from her album—’Good Intentions’—charted at #2 on the Official UK Hip-Hop and R&B Single Charts.
