Lola Blanc’s message is so simple.

With a voice as sweet as cotton candy, Alternative Pop singer Lola Blanc debuted a new single called ‘Don’t Say You Do’ from her forthcoming debut extended play on V Magazine this week. The power ballad is about a person who tells another person that they love them when they don’t. It is about the lies, deceitfulness, and pain that one feels when they find out the truth about someone they’ve trusted for a select period of time. Have a look at the song’s chorus to further understand where she’s coming from.
“If you don’t mean it, don’t you say it. If you don’t fall, don’t you fake it. If it’s a lie, don’t say you do. If you don’t want it, why you take it? How come you bought it, just break it? If you don’t love me, don’t say you do.”
When Blanc isn’t acting — you can watch her on the ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ finale or on ‘Life in Pieces’ — co-writing songs with Britney Spears or contributing to VICE.com, she is fine-tuning and refocusing her sound and purpose as a pop star.
“I’ve been quiet on the music front for the past year. I started over because I realized that I needed to take the time, with some really special, patient producers, to craft the sound, the feel, the words, the spirit of the music that I really want to [make]. No more chasing trends, no more trying to predict what other people will like. I needed to make the music that I somehow lost sight of on my ever-confusing journey through pop music and the reason that I became a songwriter in the first place. The music of my heart,” Lola Blanc explains.
