If anyone is a Jay Electronica fan, it is me. He has yet to release a debut album, but the community loves him. As us fans hold on to the idea of it coming one day, listen to the rough recording for ‘Memories & Merlot’. According to the words on this SoundCloud, his first album—Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn)—arrives September 19, 2019. Will be a Roc Nation release? Is it coming at all? We don’t know, but we have two months before we start to worry. Until then, we will continue to listen to ‘Exhibit A’, ‘Exhibit C’ and ‘The Curse of Mayweather’.
PS: I’d like to examine the hashtag for the genre (‘Science’) and the photo used for the recording, which includes Erykah Badu, the mother to their now ten-year-old daughter Mars Makeba Thedford, and one of the world’s most incredible talents. The Jasmine Brand reported in June that they were joking with each other, but if they are back together, that would be beautiful. They are amazing, individually, and as a couple.
