Last week, Ghanaian multiple award-winning artist Phrimpong officially released his heartfelt track ‘Obiaa’ featuring budding artist RGM Wonder, which he teased with a short video clip that captured the hearts of many music fans on X.

It’s one of those songs that even if you cannot understand everything written or sung, the passion is undeniably present. ‘Obiaa’ translates to “everyone” in Akan, an indigenous language from Ghana. According to Wikipedia, the Southern half of the African country speaks it mostly. For our fellow non-Akan-speaking viewers, the artist expressed in summary that the song means “he chooses not to mingle with many friends because its a risky one to do if you [are] from a poor background.” He continued, “the daily hustle will pay off pretty soon”, with the featured artist keeping a similar narrative, adding that “everyone in the world will hear of them when the hustle finally pays off.”

Yesterday, Phrimpong shared the visualiser, showing the artists on location for a photo shoot performing the song. Check it out below.
