Watch: Pete Rock In Fuse’s “Crate Diggers”

Crate digging is an art within the Hip-Hop culture. It all comes down to collecting the best library of music through vinyl. Pete Rock is one of greatest Hip-Hop producers. His technique like many is taking records to chop and loop, creating something totally new. In this addition of Crate Diggers, Pete shares how he got started, (“It came from my dad’s records, listening to his stuff”), how many vinyl records he has (“50 to 60 thousand”), beginning his career (“My cousin Heavy D took me under his wing”), and crate digging all over the world (“Look at this shack, look like there’s nothing in there”).
