M.anifest experiments with the captivating Lofi Highlife sound for ‘Handkerchief’.

Four days ago, Ghanaian star performer M.anifest released the official music video for his second release of the Summer. It’s called ‘Handkerchief’, and the Highlife and Hip-Hop track was produced by The BabaWvD and MikeMillzOn’Em. In the video, the director shows a young Black couple swaying their brown bodies to the rhythm near a local market from daylight to sundown.
The ‘Tomorrow’ rapper is one of Africa’s most gifted artists who brings a certain level of sophistication with high-brow flair to his output. It has been majestic to witness.
About the release, he says, “Growing up Ghanaian the handkerchief aka ‘Hanky’ existed in ubiquity”, M.anifest says. “I recall being always aware of its multipurpose cultural traits… it certainly did more than wipe sweat.”
M.anifest shared that the title draws inspiration from the handkerchief’s enduring role in Ghanaian social life and celebrations.
