Watch KB Devaughn’s new video for ‘The Heart’ featuring Buddy more than once

It’s so well-done, you will watch or play the song more than once.

As the hook suggests, everything that I am comes from my heart. So, when I heard the words of the song, right away, I connected to it. KB Devaughn, a GRUNGECAKE favourite, gets candid in the setting of a gathering in his neighbourhood. Panning out on the palm trees and parked cars, the recording artist shows off his relationships with friends and family—those who must be closest to him. Based on my observation, at best, musicians from Los Angeles have always done an admirable job with blending storytelling from what society may call ‘harsh’ or ‘gangster’ perspectives with soulful melodies and hooks. Think about Game’s ‘Start from Scratch’ featuring Marsha Ambrosius.

Watch KB Devaughn’s new video for ‘The Heart’ featuring fellow Californian musician Buddy below. It’s so well-done, you will watch or play the song more than once. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Buddy could be in the video, but his alluring vocals prove to be enough. It still cuts through the soul like an inevitable heartbreak.
