First female festival comes to New York City

The first all female festival comes to New York City.

Other Festival, first all female festival line up

An all-female festival has made its way to New York City, and it is happening this weekend. Spearheaded by Dee Poku, the founder of a women’s leadership program called WIE Network, “The Other Festival” provides a much-needed platform for all women to share experiences on what it means to face and overcome challenges in the modern working world. Some of the world’s most respected entrepreneurs, influencers, trailblazers and philanthropists from the music, fashion, film, art, food, design and technology worlds.

Alicia Green, the Deputy Mayor of New York, says that she is “proud that New York City will serve as the launching ground for The Other Festival. Women in business are the backbone of our economy. We want to make New York City a place to celebrate and support women. Through The Other Festival, we are giving the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders the tools they need to succeed.”

The event will be held at Spring Studios in TriBeCa, and will also feature talks with supermodel Noami Campbell, actress Rosario Dawson, and fashion designer Cynthia Rowley.

The list of musical performers include Suzi Analogue, Leaf, Yuna, Brooke Candy, Justin Skye and many others.
