Rema, Libianca, Ayra Starr nominated for MTV VMAs 2023

This year’s MTV Music Video Awards is all-inclusive, as the show organizers have announced the formation of a new Afrobeats category for the first time in the history of the VMAs.

Several Afrobeats artists were considered for nominations this year from Rema leading the pack with nominations for the song ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez in ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ categories.

Other African artists nominated include Burna Boy, Libianca, Davido, Ayra Starr, Musa Keys, Wizkid, Asake, and many others.

The 2023 VMAs are scheduled to take place on September 12, 2023, airing live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
