Chicago emcee Neak drops gems; ends 2020 with ‘4eva Eva’

I wanna live my best days forever.

As is the formula with many great Hip-Hop songs, ‘4eva Eva’ by Neak starts with a knocking 1, 2 beat until it melts into its full form, which includes an artfully interpolated sample of one of the most iconic bar-breaks in the genre: Andre 3000’s “Forever? Forever ever, forever ever?” from UGK’s ‘Int’l Players Anthem’. Whenever the sample doubles as the title of the track, you know it’s going to be good—and ‘4eva Eva’ is just that.

Gratitude and gratefulness more worthy of worship than chains and gold.

As one of those songs that doesn’t have a chorus and is purely a showcase for bars and gems about everything from equity to how to live life, 4eva Eva is a Hip-Hop staple. A song you actually have to listen to, to catch everything Neak is dropping, and once you do, it ends up being the perfect song to bump in the whip on a long drive. Although the tone of the song is calm, Neak’s bars are intense and thought-provoking. The kind of Hip-Hop they say they “don’t make anymore” is alive and well when you do some digging and find joints like this one.

It’s not the here and now, it’s what’s forever; what glitters never gold and gold’ll keep you chained and tethered.

Stream ‘4eva Eva’ by Neak, as well as his whole thirty-minute album ‘Innenstadt’, on all major streaming platforms now. With years in this game under his belt, Neak will not disappoint.
