Watch Macy Gray’s video for ‘Sugar Daddy’, a tongue-in-cheek pop song co-written with Meghan Trainor

 

Macy Gray, a decorated creative who was presented to the world as an R&B singer, just released the official video for ‘Sugar Daddy’. The lead single is from her forthcoming tenth studio album titled, Ruby. Displaying tongue-in-cheek lyrics, co-written by the incredible Meghan Trainor, its visual takes inspiration from Diana Ross’ portrayal of Billie Holiday (in the 1972 biographical classic, Lady Sings the Blues). Aptly, Evan Ross, son of Diana Ross, co-stars with Macy Gray as the owner of the nightclub. Shortly after the release of her album (September 7), Macy Gray will tour in Europe. It is always a pleasure to be in the company of unparalleled individuals. They are hard to come by. Attending and supporting @macygrayday at @oprycitystage last night was fulfilling. Hearing artists who sound the same (live) as their recordings is a treat! We should celebrate the special people in our lives who are left, that can achieve the following, and we should coach the budding artists so they can know and understand the value of vocal control and the importance of developing their voices. And last but not least, thank you to Two for taking the photo of Macy and I ❤️
