Nashville, Tennesse artist Ian Ferguson’s Psych-Rock tune covets importance of marketing with music; Listen to ‘Worried Walk’

'Worried Walk' not only pumps up my adrenaline when I hear it, but it also makes me think/feel I'd be able to complete a task because of the message the music sends to my brain.

If you’re thirty plus, there is a good chance that you’ve lived through some of the greatest synch licensing moments ever! From Superbowl commercials to the classic opening theme songs that helped to shape our musical tastes, Ian Ferguson’s latest record brings me back to my impressionable childhood. As a kid, my family and I would watch evening sitcoms during supper. Without being aware of marketing and the power of advertisement at the time, a catchy song like this would get paired with a fast-paced/high-intensity visual aiming to sell something, be it a family-sized motor vehicle or a gang of cleaning products for our kitchens or bathrooms. In hindsight, I don’t know what we would do without music. There’s no better way to sell anything worthy to a consumer. Music, which happens to be a message of its own, helps us tell another message or story. When it’s all said and done, you have to play to the human emotions and what one is looking to achieve. ‘Worried Walk’ not only pumps up my adrenaline when I hear it, but it also makes me think/feel I’d be able to complete a task because of the message the music sends to my brain.

The high school dropout’s debut album doesn’t come out until July 26, so you will have to wait on it to get a full fix, but when he makes his way to New York, he’s going to play at Union Pool on August 14. If you’re feeling the song below and you’ll be in New York City (Brooklyn), make the trip to see him perform in all his glory.

Listen, honestly, I don’t know what he’s like when he’s performing, but he has to be one hell of a singer to pull a song like ‘Worried Walk’ off live.
