A Day In The Life Of: TRPL BLK

A

ssisting TRPL BLK with his first 2-day press run in New York City last week, was one of the most riveting yet relaxing tasks I’ve taken on in a while. One thing’s for sure, when he’s in town, the pace rapidly doubles. There’s a lot of planning involved to make sure he is where he needs to be, well before the scheduled time, and a lot of preparation to make sure he is comfortable and maximizing productivity in each setting.

Before we get to the good stuff, it is imperative to know that detailed itemization is key for a TRPL BLK schedule. Not just anyone can throw something together and call it a “TRPL BLK schedule”. It is an art. During your yesterday or on the morning of your run, you must be aware that sorting out TRPL BLK’s schedule(s) can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours of preparation, and he needs to receive a confirmed schedule well before the time of his first engagement. Usually, it is contingent on the amount and value of activities we need to schedule for. When scheduling for him, the importance of each activity is considered. As shortly stated previously, maximizing efficiency and productivity is momentous for TRPL BLK.

Day 1

We went to the House of Horology where he met with Lawrence (owner) who gave us a tour of his beautiful store and gifted TRPL BLK with the gorgeous luxe black Bedlam watch from his collection (see in image below, $490). Because the guys hit it off, Lawrence told us about his friend Rob who owned a menswear shop. Immediately after, we seized the opportunity to meet with Rob (owner Robbie & Co. Men’s Shop) in Midtown Manhattan. His place is also a sight to see. After that engagement, we met up with Blue (co-manager) to meet a celebrity stylist (Toure Designs), get a bite to eat and to see a new Japanese alternative pop band called Man with a Mission perform live at Highline Ballroom as a courtesy of Epic Records. They are newly signed talent to Epic, so it was a big deal. Aptly, L.A. Reid was there. Our night ended perfectly with TRPL BLK working, in an undisclosed recording studio nearby.

Day 2

TRPL BLK at Rap Genius HQ

After his photo shoot at Rocksmith, in transit to Rap Genius, BLK posed for a bit (see images below) on the Williamsburg Bridge with Photographer Scott. We arrived 15 minutes earlier than scheduled. Just the way we intended. During his visit, the cool and collected guys gave us a tour of the penthouse, showed us the wonderful and beautiful view on the deck and soon after, TRPL BLK got to work annotated and interpreted his lyrics on the Rap Genius website. TRPL BLK with the Rap Geniuses

When we left Rap Genius, we stopped for a bite to eat. Then, we headed to the Museum of Sex to see the current exhibit and sit down with Ms. M, the Advice Columnist and Writer for the Museum of Sex to talk about the possibilities of collaborating with TRPL BLK. The results were exciting, to say the least. We ended our night by saying farewell to everyone at the House of Horology in SoHo, including Evan, the owner of The New Standard Edition before heading to Art Basel.

We’d like to thank everyone who worked to make this press run a successful one, our friends at Revolt TV / Bad Boy, all of the amazing companies who set aside time to work with us, and last but not least, Blue — the wonderful woman who I co-manage TRPL BLK with. Stay tuned.
