Fighting against police brutality and systematic racism in their way, Philadelphia-based band 1313 released a self-titled track from their new EP, ‘MOVE’. If you are a fan of the Beastie Boys’ ‘(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)’, or are familiar with the New Yorkers’ sound, you might appreciate the hook/chorus, especially. The song is about “how parents of colour have to worry about their children being safe if they go out at night, for reasons many can not relate [to.]” The band continues, “There is a huge portion of our population in America living in fear, and justice needs to be brought to that fact.”
Listen to the record and watch the video, which came out in June.
