There are certain songs you’ll hear that remind you of a time in your life or something you’ve watched on television. For me, ‘So Real’ by the British twosome—The Young Punx—takes me back to when my sitter would play “oldies” by legendary singers like Minnie Ripperton and Roberta Flack. They had a Dachshund dog breed or a “hot dog”, who would hump my leg as I sat to eat lunch at the table. I didn’t know what that was then, but I did think it was weird. Anyway, if my childhood friend’s grandmother, had she still been alive today, she would have enjoyed the creativity behind this song. I could hear it playing from her kitchen radio now. This one’s for you. RIP.
