Peso Pluma—born Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija—has cancelled his tour dates this week. He didn’t go into specifics. However, the ‘Qlona’ artist cited “personal reasons” as the reason. It comes after the award-winning star cancelled his concert in Tijuana when the Mexican Cartel threatened his life in September 2023. Fans spotted banners at a highway overpass with the words, “refrain from appearing this October 14” in Spanish.

According to The New York Times, they “were signed with the initials of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel,” which is “one of Mexico’s most powerful drug cartels and a rival of El Chapo’s Sinaloa Cartel.” Reportedly, it was not the first time the Regional Mexican recording artist has cancelled an appearance.
