This week, Ghana’s hottest new artist Black Sherif released a full-length album. On the well-composed fourteen-track effort, Kwaku the Traveller goes through various shades of being homeless and hopeless (‘The Homeless Song’), living with anxiety (‘Soja’), and being on a path that isn’t glorified (‘Sad Boys Don’t Fold)’. Though the album feels dark, positive affirmations that keep hope alive are sprinkled in. The Asakaa/Ghana Drill records bring his day ones in scope, continuing to shine a bright light on the local rap scene in Ghana. Check out the brand-new project right now.
