Vampire Weekend plans to release the follow-up to their 2019 effort, ‘Father of the Bride’. The musical group’s fifth LP is ‘Only God Was Above Us’ and will come out on April 5, 2024. According to the reports, the album finds inspiration in the “20th century New York City”, music recorded in 2019 and 2020, and its first two tracks ‘Gen-X Cops’ and ‘Capricorn’ come out on February 16, 2024. In an empty subway car in 1988, the photographer took the photo. A man reading headlines from May 1, 1988, is in the shot—memorialising the Aloha Airlines plane crash (flight 243). The album title is a quote from the Daily News, a story that includes the roof of an airplane coming off.
