Mapei: Just in time for Spring-Summer love
It’s been quite awhile since we heard from Mapei. Five years back, the Swedish-American musician released “The Cocoa Butter Diaries”. Soon after, she started to work on her debut album with Justice, the French Electronic duo who made “Dance” but “she was not happy with the final result, and decided to scrap the record.”
According to Wikipedia,
“She spent the following years traveling, which lead to extended stays in Tunisia, Portugal, and Brazil. After a particularly inspiring stint in Brazil, she decided to return to Stockholm and began working with producer Magnus Lidehäll.”
Watch the beautiful Dori Oskwitz directed video for Mapei’s “Don’t Wait”. He’s directed for artists like Passion Pit, Jack White and Cee Lo Green. Honestly, we think it’s the best treatment for such a heart-warming, feel-good track. “Don’t Wait” is also available today as a remix EP with contributors spanning from Kingdom, Chance the Rapper (who put a verse over it), Giraffage, Benny Blanco and an acoustic version of the track. Stay tuned for her debut LP set to release this Summer. We’re looking forward to it.
