Lagos-born artist Vizco delivers sultry tune ‘Ogadinma’
The past few months has been uncertain in the Afrobeats space, with artists delivering records that are unable to beat or hit previous highs, but when you discover a fresh artist, with lyrical prowess, you just have to commend good effort.
Yesterday, I came across a young singer named Vincent Ameh (Vizco) who hails from Lagos, Nigeria and he submitted this record to me titled ‘Ogadinma’ which means ‘It shall be well/It is well’ in Igbo—a prominent language stemming from the eastern part of Nigeria. At first I was reluctant to press play thinking it would be one of those songs that were poorly recorded, lacking lustre, but this record is far from it—very far.
On this record, he speaks highly of his lover and his muse, exalting her physical features, comparing it to the temple of the Holy ghost— Bold move I must say! He also assures her of his commitment to their union, deeming them inseparable on the chorus “Nobody fit to take your place o”.

[/media-credit]The vocals I would say is calmly delivered and I can clearly hear every single word he is saying—whether he speaks english or the famous Nigerian Pidgin. The production gives off a sultry/sexual vibe, taking the listeners mind to a place of serenity. This is definitely a 7+ on my score board.
I’m definitely on the look out for your next release Vizco, and I hope it’s worth the wait.
