Hear Abuja’s fast-rising star FirstKlaz and Joeboy on the lively ‘Gen-Z Faaji’ more than once
[media-credit name=”Photo: Courtesy of the publicist” width=1000 align=”center”]
[/media-credit]Drinking champagne until you get a migraine is crazy.
Last week, Abuja’s rising star FirstKlaz shared a masterpiece follow-up to his breakout song ‘Gen-Z Fuji’ and its latter version featuring the husky-voiced talent Terry Apala. Approaching 60,000 streams on Spotify, the equally catchy, incredibly made saxophone and trumpet-laden jam is an exciting danceable number, incorporating elements of popular traditional Yoruba music (Fuji) to tell gleeful stories pegged with merrymaking in all aspects (drinking, eating, and sexual advances).
As the hypnotic ‘Gen-Z Faaji’ begins, FirstKlaz invites his listeners to his party by signing over a composition with a melodic flow that feels like the one used on Asake’s ‘Lonely at the Top’. As the song continues, the gifted and talented artist flows in Yoruba amid layered featured female vocals, ushering a worship-esque layer that churchgoers have all come to love and appreciate. During Joeboy‘s verse, the ‘Contour’ singer helps FirstKlaz bring the concept together further with lyrics about the happiness deeply, present in his body, pocket-watchers (people who want to determine how and where he spends his money), and more. Listen to the MonsterSoundz-produced track sung in English and Yoruba below.
Should you enjoy it as much as we do, replay it. Then, stay tuned for more FirstKlaz soon.
