Sports Illustrated’s Top 100 NBA players list for 2022 is completed. Brooklyn Nets star, Kevin Durant, has taken the crown for the number one player in the league. Most people will say well-deserved as Durant strung together the overall best year, dominating all through the regular and post-season even though Brooklyn had an earlier exit than most expected.
Holding his previous year’s spot at number two, Giannas Antetokounmpo is the reigning NBA Champion winner of two MVP therapies in the last three years. Scary to realise Gianna’s offensive game still has room for growth as his defence is already one of the tops in the league.
The seventeen-year veteran, Lebron James, who has previously ranked number one a year ago, has now fallen to number 3. “The King” has been the most valuable, imposing, and intelligent player of our generation. At age 37 and in year 17 of his NBA career, he is still recognised as a Top 3 player. Not to be bad for the “#WashedKing”, as he referred to himself on Instagram before.
Following behind KD, Giannas, and Lebron rounding out the top 10 is Stephan Curry (4), Nikola Jokić (5), Luka Dončić (6), James Harden (7), Joel Embiid (8), Anthony Davis (9), Kawhi Leonard (10). With the NBA season around the corner, exciting to see what these stars pull off this upcoming season.
