Behind the Queensland, Australiaābased project is Edmund Gemelo Jr., a Filipino songwriter whose journey into solo artistry began after a major life shift. After years of performing in various bands between 2008 and 2015, Gemelo made the bold decision to move across the world, settling on the Sunshine Coast. That transition marked the beginning of Optacure as a personal and artistic rebirth.
Through songs like āAngelā and his broader discography, Gemelo continues to document his inner world with honesty and sensitivity. His willingness to confront difficult emotions while emphasising hope and connection has earned him listeners far beyond Australia, with growing support across South America and other regions.
