J Cole fires back at Cam’ron’s $500K lawsuit over ‘Ready ’24’
This legal clash comes as J Cole continues to promote his latest era, including his ‘The Fall-Off’ rollout and the unique ‘Trunk Stop’ tour strategy.

J Cole has officially responded to the lawsuit filed by Cam’ron over their 2024 collaboration, ‘Ready ’24’, putting his legal team on the front foot and seeking to dismiss the case in full.
Back in October 2025, Harlem-bred Rap legend Cam’ron sued J Cole and Universal Music Group, claiming he was promised royalties, proper credit and future collaborations in exchange for his contribution to the track. The lawsuit alleges that Cam’ron expected Cole to either feature on his project or appear on his It Is What It Is podcast—a deal he says was never honoured.
But J Cole has hit back hard. In court filings, Cole’s legal team argues that no such agreement existed prior to the release of the song and that Cam’ron’s claims are unfounded. According to documents, Cam’ron was “happy” to be featured on ‘Ready ’24’ without conditions and only raised demands after the song dropped—a key point in Cole’s motion to toss the case.
J Cole is pushing for the suit to be thrown out with prejudice, meaning Cam’ron can’t bring it again. His camp insists that the collaboration was voluntary and industry standard, while Cam’ron’s side maintains he’s owed roughly $500,000 in profits and royalties.
This legal clash comes as J Cole continues to promote his latest era, including his ‘The Fall-Off’ rollout and the unique ‘Trunk Stop’ tour strategy. Whether this ends in court or settlement, the Hip-Hop world is watching—and the ‘Ready ’24’ saga isn’t over yet.
