  • Listen to American-French duo Freedom Fry’s new homage track ‘West Coast’

    If you’ve never been to California, Freedom Fry’s record might make you want to see what the big deal is. Recently, Bruce Driscoll and Marie Seyrat moved to LaLa Land to pursue their dreams of making it in the music business. When asked about what inspired the songwriting, they shared the following:

    ‘West Coast’ is about trying to swim towards your dreams amidst all the sharks around you.

    Now, if that isn’t deep like the blue sea, I don’t know what is. Stream the lead single from the duo’s unreleased and unnamed album. All of the songs from the album were recorded at different places in California. ‘West Coast’ was made at “a bungalow at the famed Chateau Marmont, [which is] the hotel where comedy legend John Belushi died.” Who doesn’t enjoy music with a theme and reason?

It is the second single by the musical duo, who has written music for the likes of Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding, Icona Pop, and more. With a hook that’s easy to remember, and reminds me of Sunshine from ‘Harlem Nights’, and viable to make you chant at the top of your lungs at any given venue or club downtown, the record will make you dance, even if you didn’t plan—at least during its playback.

The beat is comprised of synthesizers, keyboards, drums, and bass guitar which lays the foundation for his smoothly catchy hook. His lyrics pay homage to his lover’s sensual nectar and describe acting on their sexual urges.

    While his catalogue is small, the work that he has released is impressive and will lead him to great success one day.
