Founded in late 1998 by Norwegian producer-songwriter Christoffer Schou, Remington Super 60 became known in Norway for the Electronics/Casio Pop wave together with other major artists. Over the years, the band has had several different members and has released several albums and EPs on various indie labels around the world and appeared on numerous compilation albums. Remington Super 60’s new single, ‘I Don’t Wanna Wait’, off their new EP entitled ‘New EP’, encompasses elements from Alternative/Indie Pop/Indie Electronic genres, creating a hypnotically dreamy sound. The soft and lighthearted instrumentals coupled with the songs simple lyrics and catchy hook gives off a spacey essence that listeners can’t get enough of. Remington Super 60 has already reached cult status with many of their fans and I predict that their new single and EP will further solidify their presence.

If the name Leah Jeanea rings a bell, you might be familiar with the songstress and her amazing talents. In 2018, the then seventeen-year-old Newark native appeared on the second season of Fox’s show ‘The Four: Battle for Stardom’ and quickly became a fan favorite. Since her appearance on the show, she released her EP ‘Leah Meets Nina’ in 2019, which solidified her talents as a stunning vocalist. The talented singer is back with more dynamic vocals with her new single ‘Balance’.

The tone of the song is reminiscent of that of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovey?’, giving it an almost nostalgic sound. The guitar melodies and steady drumbeat creates a musically tranquil vibe while her vocals put listeners in a relaxing mood. The video shows shots of Jenea on a swing, sitting in a empty room, and shots of her with her male love interest, which makes an artistically seductive visual.

Afrobeats makes me feel happy whenever I hear it, she tells Apple Music. People just go to another level; it makes you want to dance and move. Campbell’s selections span emerging talents and established superstars, but what matters most to her—as she points out using Burna Boy’s ‘Anybody’ and Wizkid’s ‘Joro’ as examples—is that the songs give her a feeling she can’t get elsewhere: I love the sound of ‘Anybody’. I love the live sound of the band and Burna’s voice on top of it. It’s a new sound but it sounds like live music, which is rare these days, she says. I’m all about rhythm and bass, and I love the slow build of ‘Joro’. It’s a sexy, deep, sensual song, like it’s moving forward to reveal something from inside.
