Brooklyn singer-songwriter A$H shares new Gospel EP ‘Soul Songs’: Listen to ‘Special’
Gospel music, to me, has always felt like worship that can be joyful, triumphant, even loud, or it can be repentance, humble, and emotional. Gospel music not only delivers the message, but it can also feel like a testimony, a moment to cry out, and relief all in one. Gospel music can be your epiphany and revelation, your prayer and covenant, your lessons and stories, and your beliefs and feelings.
A forever trending topic is a vague change and the future. Gospel music has stayed relevant and chart-topping, but why is that? Sike! That is a discussion for another time. Back to A$H and ‘Special’, this song has a different style for Gospel. Gospel is where rhythm and blues come from. This beat is jazzier than your typical piano, horns, and drums praise jam. It makes you feel comfortable and simultaneously vulnerable. You feel like reflecting and realizing. The moment when you come to and know you are blessed and wrapped in the Light is an energy you can feel in this song.
This R&B sounding Gospel song can blend well in between Top 40, Urban, and Gospel. That appeal can reach many types of souls. During this time of being home and not able to convene, take some time, and add ‘Special’ to your “Worship and Focus Playlist.”
If you are ever in need of an uplift, ‘Special’ is a full song that is four minutes long. While you might feel down and out, and low, A$H sings your spirit to comfort that you matter because you matter to Him. The repetition of the word title of the song provides a soothing feeling that you will always be illuminated to Him no matter what you do or go through.
The beauty of Gospel music is that it doesn’t discriminate. You don’t have to be the most righteous and pious to enjoy a vibe such as this. This song can touch anyone, just go ahead and check it out on SoundCloud.

Philadelphia’s Electronic duo Marian Hill shares title track from new EP ‘Was It Not’: Listen
Marian Hill brings us the smooth head-nodding track, ‘Was It Not’. The song seems to put you in a trance with her seductively enticing vocals. The song warranted me to play it over and over again while I sipped scotch and imagined being in a club and out of quarantine. The Pennsylvania-based duo just released their new EP of the same name. You can listen to it, here, when you’re finished with the title track.

Dancehall artist Sulfa experiences streaming success with new high riddim ‘Gangsta Living’: Listen
‘Gangsta Living’ is a trend on Audiomack for DJ Slow Motion and upcoming foreign-based Dancehall act Sulfa.
The single has amassed over ten-thousand views and a significant number of positive feedback in a matter of weeks.
The hardcore Dancehall track features a coarse, hard-hitting and melodic blend of lyrics on the complimentary rhythm provided by Bepo and DJ Slow Motion.
The ‘High Riddim’ is immediately available for streaming on all major outlets and have been receiving a significant amount of support since the February release. Sulfa sings about the extremities of living a ‘gangster’ life; from the stylish clothing, gritty associates, weapons and not the mention the abundance of women. While G Starr and CV sing about the various perks of using marijuana and the notorious ‘intoxicated’ feeling.
This is just the beginning, my team and I have a lot of ground to cover and goals to achieve. It’s only up from this point, DJ Slow Motion told BLZ writers.
Stream the ‘High Riddim’ below.

Electronic trio KOKO release emotion-packed single ‘Tell Me Do You Care?’: Listen
Bristol-based Electronic trio KOKO met at a party in Bristol in 2017 and bonded over their shared love of music and fusing genres. The three artists, Oliver Garland (vocals), Harry Dobson (bass), and Ashley C (lead guitar) quickly began creating together in Oliver’s father’s garage; resulting in the band’s birth. Since their debut four months ago, they have released three singles, gained thousands of streams, and have gone on to sell out their debut headline show in London. Their latest track ‘Tell Me Do You Care?’, which is the first to come with a music video from the band, perfectly showcases their brand of Dark Alternative Pop.
The track begins with slow piano chords, gradually adding up to the additions of mesmerizing synths and bass. Oliver’s airy and morose toned vocals coupled with the track’s emotional lyrics wrap listeners in a blanket of vulnerability.
According to KOKO, the lyrics reflect being in a vulnerable mindset. When someone’s at their lowest and they move to drugs and alcohol to mask what they’re feeling.
The video stays true to the trio’s effort to keep their messaging simple as it concentrates on Oliver sitting in an empty, floral walled room. As the shot pans out, the room begins to spin counterclockwise, revelling a surprise twist. The single is the third track released from their debut EP, ‘Follow’.

Chicago artist-producer Anthony Vince shares new breakup track ‘One of Your Shows’: Listen
Anthony Vince sings beautifully on his new track ‘One of Your Shows’. The record is about a relationship coming to an end, and going through the motions. Based on the lyrics, it appears that Vince is the one who ended the relationship because of a fit of apparent jealousy or just a pure lack of understanding of his lifestyle. It isn’t easy to be with someone who isn’t as driven as you are. On the flip side, it’s also hard to keep up with the unknown certainties of someone destined for fame. I say all that to say, as music makers and music marketers, let’s be more selective about who we let into our lives, and be fully accountable for how we make them feel.
Listen to the track below, which reminds us of the early 00s Panic at the Disco’s backing tracks. It’s far more special for the artist because he wrote the song, produced it, and mixed and mastered the record. At some points during the rap performance, his words didn’t flow as effortlessly, but it’s still a good song.
