Irish singer Moncrieff shares dejected quarantine-inspired demo ‘In My Room’: Listen
Moncrieff captured the sad reality caused by the COVID-19 in his somber track, ‘In My Room’. Over a lovely and equally somber piano beat, the artist reflects on his life and how it has changed forever because of the pandemic. The song is thought-provoking to say the very least and is a perfect way to capture the pain & heartache a lot of people around the world experienced in 2020. The song will age well in due time when we are all able to look back on this year and how it has changed the world.

Usher tells Apple Music about using time in isolation to reconnect with something greater, the value of R&B, and shares thoughts on Drake, Frank Ocean, Pop Smoke, and more
Usher joins Zane Lowe via FaceTime on Apple Music to discuss listening to his own music, the next generation of talented R&B artists, using quarantine as a time to reflect, the timelessness and value of R&B music, and share his thoughts on Drake, Frank Ocean, the late Pop Smoke, Jay Electronica, Jack Boys, and more. On seeing isolation as an opportunity for growth, he tells Apple Music:
Take the time to build yourself in this moment, because we’re gonna come out of it at some point, and when we do, who will you be? What will you have learned? What will you know about yourself?
On Frank Ocean, he says: There’s only a handful of artists who I think have the ability to come and go when they please. He’s a very unique specimen.

Track Seattle rapper Kateel’s journey in new single ‘I Ain’t Forgot’: Watch
Newcomer Kateel raps like he has some years in the game. His latest track, ‘I Ain’t Forgot’, feels like it’s being performed by a veteran. It’s well done, well produced, and the video is excellent. Kateel talks about his ascension to the top of the rap game and pays homage to his humble beginnings. This is a track that is well appreciated from an artist–to me, it keeps the artist human and lets us fans know that we can guarantee that he will always be the kid from Seattle who is living his dream.

British singer Yizzy shares Dizzee Rascal produced record ‘Don’t Feel A Way’: Listen
Yizzy’s single ‘Don’t Feel A Way’ is a fun, high-energy track that merges Rap and Electronic music, smoothly and seamlessly. The artists voice bounces from line-to-line over the uptempo beat and heavy bass; making you feel like you just walked into a rave. This track is a breath of fresh air in my opinion; a unique beat with a unique tone of voice.

The talented Bknott gets creative with the 70s-themed visual for ‘Ambrosia’: Watch
Creativity and talent almost always provide experience in music that will keep listeners and viewers engaged and interested in what you have to offer. The talented Bknott expresses his creative nature with the releases of his visual for ‘Ambrosia’. The visual is set to look like the 70’s, and everyone is coming together for a gathering. At this gathering, you can see the sharing of recreational drugs, drinks and a good time. The visual also has a skit in which they are smoking and contemplating the illegality of ‘shrooms. The exciting visual is mixed with a modern sound, which ironically adds to the nostalgic feel of the visual. Overall, I enjoyed the visual, as its creative nature left me more interested in Bknott as an artist.

Brooklyn R&B artist Alex Mali releases official visual for ‘Problem’: Watch

Brooklyn born singer-songwriter Alex Mali has gained popularity among fans with her signature green hair and unique brand of R&B. In 2016, the half Trinidadian, half Jamaican artist splashed on to the scene after her track ‘Phenom’ went viral. In 2019 Alex released her debut highly-anticipated EP ‘Sweet & Sour’ and has since made appearances at the VFiles NYFW SS19 Runway Show alongside Lil Kim at the Barclays Center and the BET Awards Sprite Commercials. Her latest track, ‘Problem’ stays true to her distinctive, arty brand of Alternative R&B.
The track begins with a funky bass chord which is quickly joined by soft sounds of Alex panting and a deep bassline. Mali’s lax vocals and soft yet edgy melodies create a sound that is minimal but overflowing with spunk. The visuals for the track are equally as artistic as it displays a close up of Mali’s luscious lips and eyes through a spotlight accentuated against a black background.
