  • American rapper Gutta Gone shares ‘These Streets’ featuring Baby Bounce: Listen

The lyrically-gifted Gutta Gone shares the reality of his life in the streets on his latest release ‘These Streets’. The song, produced by Ge Oh Works, features Baby Bounce, who starts the song off with an intense first verse. He leaves warnings for anyone coming for him, letting it be known that he is certified in the streets. Gutta Gone brings that same reminder, with the hook and his verse. Letting it be known that “this emcee got a hammer you can’t fucking touch me, take a gamble with your life if you feeling lucky”. Ge Oh Works production adds a gritty element to the track that compliments both artists’ perfectly, allowing them to optimize their lyrics and flow.

  • Highly-skilled artist Matt Cleare shares versatility on latest release ‘HB2000°(Bad)’: Listen

Matt Cleare finds a way to perfectly balance his storytelling raps and his astonishing vocals, on his latest record ‘HB2000°(Bad)’. On this self-produced record, he shares his flaws and all, with the understanding that no one is perfect. Ironically, he uses all these to brag about his coveted lifestyle. His vocal performance is admirable, as he is found playing with different harmonies while keeping up with the intensity of his raps. His music is enjoyable and I am excited to hear what more he has to offer.

  • Play this Kiss the Tiger record ‘Motel Room’ more than once

Approximately two weeks ago, Kiss the Tiger unleashed a hot track called ‘Motel Room’. Have you ever been in a motel room? Every time I’ve been in one, it reeked of cigarette smoke, their idea of breakfast is sugary cereal and questionable milk, and the energy is drab. On the other hand, the song by the Minneapolis group speaks to the moment when someone is tired of you. Listen to the female-fronted band’s latest track below. The hook is addictive, repetitive, and slightly annoying, which is what ironically makes it memorable and well, good.

‘Motel Room’ was the ‘Song of The Day’ at 89.3 KCMP The Current on April 9, 2020.

  • A&R Feedback: VBae – Drugz

Could this new artist get you hooked?

This video surprised me. The beat is super fire, the sample looping draws you in, the beat is so good, that you ignore that the song title is spelt out as ‘Drugz’ in the video. While I enjoyed the introduction to VBae and her very sexy animal print bodysuit walking up the driveway to a G-wagon and nice abode, what captures you is the beat. The song is titled ‘Drugz’, however, the lyrics don’t mention the usual conversation and buzz words associated with drugs in a song. There is no discussion of drug sales, preparation, clientele, robbery, anyone being charged with a RICO, or feigns in a trap house. This song seems to be your typical f&#!k me song but on a beat that Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Big Krit, or Mac Miller might usually float on. ‘Drugz’, and the few times mentioned, addiction seems to be all about her little pill if you catch my drift…

This Floridian rapper’s lyrics do flow over the beat, and her voice actually sounds good with the air around the song. So not only does her curvaceous body look good in her corset and bodysuit, but she is serving you overall sex appeal without the creepy Carole Baskin vibe.

I will say she needs to upgrade her videographer. I do not understand the point of her being on a dining room table for a song titled ‘Drugz’, but is rapping about how sweet her candy is. The shots of flowers, car emblems, and table cloths don’t really do anything for the imagination either. VBae repetitively asks in the song, “Can you get it wet? Can you get it drippin’?” and the only thing wet on her is her wet body wave wigs she wears in the video, which is interesting because she actually stands in a pool. During this time of sitting at home and boredom, people are showing significant creativity with video editing apps that are available for free in the Apple Store. Adobe has been offering sales on different editing software for a few weeks now.

Again, the beat is dope. The beat sets a specific tone that you can smoke to this, ride to this, or get lusty to this. Big ups and shoutout to who made the beat. But the artist definitely sparks an interest to see what else she will put out in the future. The lyrics do not match the song title or the video, but check it out for yourself…

  • Tory Lanez tells Apple Music about new album ‘New Toronto 3’, gems he’s been holding back, and more

Tory Lanez joins Ebro Darden via FaceTime on Apple Music to chat about the birth of ‘Quarantine Radio’, gems he’s been holding back, being true to himself as an artist, finding new ways to interact with his audience and the release of his new project, ‘New Toronto 3’.

On getting out of his deal, he says: Like I said, this is my last album. You gotta understand, in three days, I’m out the label. I’m gone. On holding some of his favorite material back, he said: I didn’t wanna give the team those records that I felt were earth-changing records. That’s why I haven’t really released none of my real golden songs.

He says ‘The Coldest Playboy’ is his favorite song on the album and that ‘it was the most vulnerable and the most honest’. On Quarantine Radio, Lanez says, I never tried to make it like that. I was really just like, I’m gonna go on here and for all my celebrity friends that ain’t got nothin to do and for all my fans that just wanna be outside, we can just virtually drink together and listen to music.
