  • Hear Australian artist Harry Nathan’s tongue-in-cheek track featuring Hollywood actor Ryan Lee’s vocal on ‘Harriet Tubman?’

Two weeks ago, Australian singer-songwriter and producer Harry Nathan shared an upbeat record titled ‘Harriet Tubman?’. The song, which saw the number one spot on Hype Machine (April 26, 2020), is a hilarious Deep House composition that inserts a conversation with Hollywood actor Ryan Lee, who is known for his roles in movies like ‘Goosebumps’, ‘Super 8’ and ‘This Is 40’. Ironically, he lives across the hall from the musician.

Here’s a word from Nathan about how the track came to be:

Ryan walks into my studio one day and starts talking into the mic, not realising I was recording. The first part of this recording ended up in the outro of ‘Fool For Your Love’, from my first EP. It landed perfectly in that spot. ‘You’ continued talking, as if hosting a fictional radio show, when an imaginary Harriet Tubman decided to join us. I genuinely had no idea who Harriet Tubman was, asking ‘Who’s Harry Tubman?’, to which Ryan replied ‘Underground Railroad Queen’.

My close childhood friend Tass Diakos was in LA visiting from Sydney and suggested we turn it into a house vibe. An hour later we were all in our pyjamas sitting on Ryan’s living room floor, building the song on my laptop. Then we finished the production in my studio with my boy Preston (Walker). It fell together so quickly and easily. – Harry Nathan

  • Denver band Star Garbage’s ‘Tired’ may align with the moral fatigue you’re experiencing: Listen

Six months ago, Star Garbage released a track called ‘Tired’, and it makes us everything but that. The first few weeks of quarantine though has been energy-draining. When posting about it to Facebook, people responded to tell me what I’ve been experiencing is “moral fatigue”. Whatever it may be, it doesn’t feel as good as this. Before now, the Denver misfit band was called Babe Grenade, and they refer to their music as “dirty atmospheric Grunge led by powerhouse vocalist Alli Walls.” The song about being lethargic is one of three records from their self-titled October release. If you’re a fan of Babes in Toyland like me, it brings forth that kind of energy to me. Check it out.

  • Ghanaian Highlife star Bisa Kdei shares official video for ‘Ofie Nipa’ featuring Sista Afia: Watch

About a week ago, Ghanaian Highlife star Bisa Kdei released the official video for ‘Ofie Nipa’ featuring Accra-native artist Sista Afia. Based on a loose translation we’ve received, he sings about the people closest to you being the ones who hurt you the deepest. Although you may not understand what the artists are saying, most of us can relate to the lyrics, and it is an undeniably fun danceable tune. Check out the visual for the Nzema Poppin-produced track below. Prince Dovlo directed it.

  • Beyoncé is now on Megan thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’: Listen to the remix exclusively on TIDAL

Houston Hotties all over the world are going to lose it when they hear this. It’s official. Megan thee Stallion has the Beyoncé feature.

Taken on her rap persona that I’ve said Beyoncé had for a very long time, the Houston legendary singer has blessed the younger generation Houstonian with an official remix to her currently bubbling record. Aside from Beyoncé’s timely references of being on “demon time” and mentioning scammers on the song, it is a great way to show that she supports Megan. It’s a big deal for the independent artist. As stated on her Instagram caption below, the proceeds from the record will benefit the Bread of Life COVID-19 relief efforts in Houston.

  • Brooklyn artist HDBeenDope shares visual for inspirational ‘Inizio’ track: Watch

HDBeenDope, one of the talented artists I had a chance to interview this month on Instagram Live, is back with the official video for ‘Inizio’. Expressing himself with a different tone and production style on the album cut, the Brooklyn-native artist sees and understands that he can do all the things he puts his mind to, which is powerful. ‘Inizio’ is one of the fifteen tracks from the forthcoming album, which explores the duality of fame and financial success. I can’t wait to hear ‘BrokeN Dreams’. It comes out on the first day of May. Watch the Erikson Corniel-direction now. If you haven’t, check out his incredible video for ‘20K’, too.

  • Virgy launches virtual orgy platform to help people “break out of the monotony of social distancing”

About three hours ago, I received an email about an adult site that launched a “virtual orgy platform” that is supposed to host sex parties during the global pandemic. With several questions soaring my mind after reading the subject of the email, I had to find out how this would work and why it was in my inbox. It’s called ‘Virgy’, and its claim to operation is to provide “a safe environment for people looking to explore orgies during COVID-19. I guess there are some sad people out there, who aren’t getting their fix because attending a real-life orgy could mean their demise or the demise of someone else. According to the mail, it says that “many people are craving sexual exploration right now, and are more willing to try out new experiences like virtual sex parties”. You’re probably thinking “how and is this safe?” Virgy hopes to help people “break out of the monotony of social distancing.”

It seems to be the answer to Tory Lanez’s banned Quarantine Radio, and Zoom’s recent statement about “cracking down on virtual sex parties to limit nudity and hanky panky on the platform.” If you’re still reading and you’re wondering if Virgy has enough bandwidth for your libido, it does. Adult FriendFinder, the parent company of Virgy, boasts one-hundred million registered users worldwide and guarantees you won’t get interrupted by unexpected, mood-killing glitches. It’s free. You can also watch from any device. When you’re watching, you can invite up to twenty people to a private video conference.

At Adult FriendFinder, we’re all about embracing sex positivity and providing an engaging platform for people looking to find quick flings and casual partners to long-term relationships, said Gunner Taylor, Director of Strategic Development for FriendFinder Networks. With large gatherings banned across the country and popular sex party clubs forced to close their doors, we wanted to create a venue geared specifically for virtual orgies. You don’t want to login into a traditional video conference platform that you might use for a work call for a virtual orgy. You want to feel like you’re tuning into a sexy, exclusive event where anything might happen.
