John Gabbana opts for positivity with the release of ‘Goin Up’: Watch the video
Opening the new video for his song ‘Goin Up’, John Gabbana talks to his father about coming back to the music industry after turning around his life of danger. If you aren’t familiar with John Gabbanna, he used to go as “Boonk”, who used to be an internet troll long before the careers of other “troll rappers” took off. It was difficult to tell if the stunts he did were real or not, but it turns out that they were. He was also committing crimes, and getting hurt for the ‘gram, as they say. I guess, to be a relevant entertainer with a million followers, in the age of social media takes life-altering measures for some.
I think the last straw was when retaliation led to a broken jaw, or when he shot himself. Soon after, reportedly, that the rapper fell into a deep dark suicidal depression because he lost his Instagram account, which brought in $20,000 a month according to the claim.
It’s good to see John Gabbana doing better with his life. Last month, with some friends, he fed the homeless.

Houston R&B artist Nick Vyner teams up with Stevie Wonder’s drummer Stanley Randolph for ‘Magic’: Listen
As we cast into the quarantine night, we are listening to the rhythmic R&B songs and ‘Magic’ in our playlist, which is seemingly helping to ease the pain of being alone in a Zoom crowd. Embracing each other through our screens is the new norm. Before COVID-19, it was only a means of communicating interim seeing one another in person. Now, more than ever, magic (or supernatural forces) is what some of us wished we had. It would be different. As far as the construct of the song, the Houston-native singer Nick Vyner and the legendary Stevie Wonder’s drummer—Stanley Randolph—teamed to make his second release through Level Music. Check it out.

Last year, Mexican-Canadian artist PAPI AQ and Toronto upstart Dre Prada teamed up for a bilingual song ‘LVL UP’. Los Angeles Bedroom Pop artist LoveLeo uses 127 fruits to make his point in video for ‘LEMONS’: Watch
Taken the saying “when life gives you lemons make lemonade” to the max, LoveLeo wears a big ass lemon earring, sits in bed with the fruit, and dons yellow nail polish. Los Angeles-based artist sure does know how to make a sticky or shitty situation seem better than it is. It may also be as a result of the colour yellow, and what it does to the brain. When he’s not sitting in a tub filled with the Vitamin C inducers, he’s dancing in the window of his apartment. It’s one of the happier songs to help you get through an uncertain quarantine day. Play this one by the Bedroom Pop artist loud.

Listen to New Jersey’s Bymaddz sing her truth in ‘Mind Right’ featuring Tywiththewifi, Freakquencee and Liam Bornovski
As soon as I turned on Bymaddz track ‘Mind Right’, I immediately felt warm weather. The beat and the vibe of the song made me feel awesome. The New Jersey artist’s voice is smooth, jazzy, and clean. The lyrical content is deep, discussing the need to sometimes isolate and make sure your mental health is straight, a message that is necessary especially in these times. This song is necessary. It’s the reminder that we all need to be wrapped up in excellent vocals and production.

Watch Sweden musician Per Störby Jutbring’s official video for ‘The Lynx, The Fawn, The Squirrel’
As some of us wind down for bed, we like to either be in silence or allow something soothing to take us into the night. If I had to recommend a song for bedtime, it would be ‘The Lynx, The Fawn, The Squirrel’ by the Neo-Classical musician Per Störby Jutbring. The performance of the string quartet, captured at his ‘Las Palmas’ studio in Stockholm, is nothing short of mesmerising. It is a piece, without words, that grips the soul. Poignantly and intentionally looking to be kid-like and whimsical, the juxtaposition of the room to the music is the sort of dichotomy we also enjoy. Here’s the dimly-lighted performance of ‘The Thief Bunny Society’ single.
