Canada’s Alt-Rock duo Neon Dreams releases ‘Sick of Feeling Useless’: Listen
Diverse Canadian duo Neon Dreams is known for being unafraid to switch up their genres. Their latest track ‘Sick of Feeling Useless’ is a bold one. Aside from having a title that I felt to my soul, the duo brings true alternative rock back into our stratosphere. This effort gives an early 2000s Alt-Rock feel, but with a modern twist. The song is emotional, one for the people who feel pretty unproductive and trapped, which is a feeling that many can have in a time where most of us are stuck in the house. Neon Dreams is a group that will continue to elevate and adapt, and we’re here for the ride.

Have you watched ‘squeaking rapper’ 645AR’s video for viral hit ‘Yoga’? Twitter is in rage
645AR just saved the world with the new visual for his viral hit song ‘Yoga’. Whether you are hearing the song for the first time, now or you have seen the many popular TikToks using the track, I can promise the song will be stuck in your head. The song is a beautiful mess and every time it ends, I find myself listening to it again. Maybe, it is because I love it. Maybe, it is because I don’t understand it. The same concept applies to this exciting visual.

After watching it many times, I get it and to be honest… I love it! This is what the future sounds like and we got to see what the future looks like with this one. This is fun, exciting, new and the song just makes me happy. Many people will wonder if this is serious or if this is a parody, but regardless of what it is… I can’t get the song out of my head and I can’t stop smiling. I have never seen anything like this video before. I have never heard anything like this song before. The song is infectious, but in a good way. In a way, that counteracts all the negativity spread by the infectious Coronavirus. Maybe, 645AR is saving the world and despite this being a silly song… It is saving the world in a sense, by spreading some positivity during these dark times.

West London’s Alana Maria releases catchy breakup R&B song ‘Happier’: Watch the video
As someone who appreciates clear, crisp vocals and lyrics, London’s rising star Alana Maria is just my speed. The young UK singer is gaining traction and we can see why. This break-up song is fresh and straight-forward. The vocals are clean, the beat is catchy, and this debut is the type of confident track that we look for from artists breaking into the industry. The video is adorable and simple. As a break-up song, the accompanying video actually made me feel like she’s really over the subject of the song. It’s carefree and happy, which is exactly what the message of the song is. Real R&B isn’t dead, and Alana Maria is making sure that remains true.

North Carolina rapper OG Spliff shares smooth track ‘GO!’: Listen
As North Carolina continues to put on for the Hip-Hop scene, Winston-Salem’s OG Spliff looks to add to the momentum. This short single is full of all we need out of a Hip-Hop track. Dope beat, quality lyrics, no filler, no extras. His deep voice is distinctive and adds to his appeal. The song sounds like the Hip-Hop of old, where the beats were intentional and made with care and the bars were just as carefully crafted.

Towards the end of April, Moneybagg Yo released the official visual for ‘Speak 4 Em’, which happened to become one of my favourite songs on his album ‘Time Served’. It gives me everything I need in a modern-day rap song: Affluent shit-talking, as I like to call it, which means the type of shit someone can talk and back up, the quintessential trap house setting, and drip for days. Watch the video below featuring his current girlfriend Ari Fletcher, who has a child with Chicago rapper G Herbo.

Float through your quarantine with Chris Brown and Young Thug’s ‘Slime & B’: Review
This week, Chris Brown and Young Thug released their well-composed joint project ‘Slime & B’. As it implements uptempo production and the lovely balance of vocals from both musical stars, the twelve-track project is a smooth effort—bound to enter the charts. If you’re in the mood to hear some bangers featuring usual collaborators (Duke, Gunna) and two Bay Area legends (E-40, Too $hort), you want to add the mixtape to your to-do list now. Chris Brown’s classic R&B vocals reign supreme alongside Young Thug’s signature sing-rap chops are what make it what it is: Slime & B. When two artists of this calibre pair up, there’s not much to say or breakdown. Listen to it if you haven’t, and if you did already, do it again.
