Shaboozey faces mortality in sweeping new ‘Born to Die’ video: Watch
(Drink) Like we ain’t born to die? The GRAMMY-winning artist leans into danger, temptation and Western mythmaking ahead of his forthcoming album.

Two days ago, Shaboozey returned with a striking new visual for ‘Born to Die’, a truth-telling single that finds the GRAMMY Award-winning star staring directly at his own mortality.
Set against mountainous backdrops and cinematic Western terrain, the video matches the weight of the record. Shaboozey does not just sing about living on the edge. He appears to embrace it. Across the track, he reflects on near-death moments, risky impulses and the strange thrill of surviving what could have ended him.
“I know that I won’t live forever”, he sings, before admitting he has “fought with death a thousand times” and still walked away. That tension sits at the centre of the song. Shaboozey knows the stakes, yet he still chooses the chase.
There is also an interesting relationship between the song’s clean, radio-friendly framing and its heavier themes around drinking, recklessness and escape. Alcohol has long been part of both Country and Rap/Hip-Hop storytelling, but here it lands differently.
Directed by Logan Meis, The .45s and Shaboozey, ‘Born to Die’ offers astounding views and a deeper look at the outlaw mythology shaping his next chapter.
In conclusion, his album ‘The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales’ is set for release on July 31.
