She’s causing emotional damage.

Instagram

It has been six voluminous years since FAVE, the talented Nigerian artist, emerged onto the scene in one of the largest African music hubs. Over the years, the Anambra State singer-songwriter had viable moments as an indie artist (viral during the COVID-19 lockdown, recent COLORS performance), earned features with fellow Nigerian artists including Afrobeats legend Davido, GRAMMY Award-winning Beyoncé collaborator Yemi Alade, Abuja-born star Bloody Civilian, Alté pioneer Tay Iwar, and more.

Lately, the ‘Baby Riddim’ songbird teamed up with legendary record producer-musician Dre Skull, known for his contributions to popular Dancehall riddims (Popcaan, Vybz Kartel, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy) and running Mixpak Records, for a winsome collaboration titled ‘Cold Outside’.

FAVE—real name Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere—once poised as a potential breakout artist for emPawa Africa—Mr Eazi’s label imprint—it’s no wonder she would connect with Dre Skull. Like FAVE, Mr Eazi is known for exploring multiple genres. In 2022, she won “Rookie of the Year” at The Headies 2022 and was nominated for “Most Promising Artist” and “Best Artist in African Reggae, Dancehall” at the All Africa Music Awards, and she’s on an upward trajectory to cement or solidify her spot as such. Therefore, without further ado, check out the official music video for ‘Cold Outside’ below, directed by Tunde Cutz.

Sidebar: FAVE’s distinct vocal style is a treat. However, we were briefly saddened by her being significantly darker skintone in this 2020 discovery article. In conclusion, we respect everyone’s journey, so if FAVE likes it, we love it.
