[/media-credit]Yesterday, Ghanaian-American artist Moses Sumney released a new single ‘Gold Coast’ from his forthcoming extended play aptly titled ‘Sophcore’. In the song, the ‘Vintage’ songbird sings about taking space (“She said you’re holding up traffic/Green means go”) and insists on giving his partner the sexual experience they deserve, to which he sings in West African Pidgin English (“But I no fih give you no quick quick/Tell your job you’re calling in sick sick”).
The artist with the velvety voice said, “‘Sophcore’ explores the meeting points between sensuality and intuition … esotericism and populism … deep feeling and fun. It’s diving into subterranean rhythm, bass and drums, and making music for the hips as well as the heart.”
