As the official press release explains, “The new single comes as Quavo’s second official release of the year and follows a monumental 2024, during which he was honoured with the Variety Hitmakers Humanitarian of the Year Award for his work with the Rocket Foundation and his efforts to combat gun violence in America. The heavily anticipated collaboration sees the two chart-topping artists trading bars about legacy, resilience, and the journey from struggle to superstardom. Blending Quavo’s melodic delivery with Lil Baby’s sharp lyricism, ‘Legends’ is a triumphant anthem [celebrating] their rise whilst cementing their status as icons of Atlanta’s Rap scene.
Directed by Hidji, the accompanying music video opens with the duo rapping in a garage full of luxury cars, setting the tone for a celebration of success. Scenes of yacht parties, poolside glamour, and high-speed cruises through the city showcase the opulence they’ve earned, whilst both artists reflect on their come-up and the trials they’ve overcome—reminding listeners why they remain two of the brightest stars in the rap game.”

“Redbone slim thick shit/She only 22”

[/media-credit]Two days ago, two of the world’s biggest rappers, Lil Baby and GloRilla, released the official video for their latest collaborative track, ‘Redbone’. Throughout the track, the superstar rapper from Atlanta praises a specific category of women. In this case, it’s all about light-brown women who aren’t necessarily light-skinned or brown-skinned. I haven’t seen many comments about the title yet, but the music video only has 378,000 views as of publication. I’m surprised it is not trending on YouTube Music. Call me crazy, but that’s not a good sign for a creation between these two.

Check out the Gerard Victor direction below and count how many “redbones” make a cameo.

Lil Baby shares the reality of being Black in America on his new track ‘The Bigger Picture’: Listen
With a heightened awareness of social injustices, amongst the whirlwind of emotions, this year has already evoked, Lil Baby shares his single, ‘The Bigger Picture’. Speaking on the incidents of police brutality plaguing the United States of America, and the protests that followed, Lil Baby takes the time out to bring forth the reality of being a black person and having an instilled fear of interactions with those tasked to protect us. He holds himself accountable, speaking upon the importance of using the power he has to contribute to some solutions. He urges that although all issues aren’t going to be solved overnight, it’s time to stand unified and start looking at what can be done to bring about changes.

Photo: Matthew Geovany He also goes on to share his first-hand experiences with the protest and also the reality of those who are being attacked by police for fighting for some equality. With ‘The Bigger Picture’, Lil Baby goes above and beyond to bring not only good music but responsible documentation of the reality of these moments we are living in.

Masked singer RMR releases official remix to ‘DEALER’ featuring Future and Lil Baby: Listen
Earlier this week, I had text conversations with my friends about masked musicians. I wanted to know if any crossed over to the mainstream, successfully, without us knowing what they look like without it on. Names like Sia,
R Kelly, MF DOOM, HER, and Ghostface Killah were names that my friends mentioned, but the listed contenders didn’t meet the requirements of what I was thinking. However, RMR seems to be the artist I was thinking of, without knowing of his existence. In February upon the release of ‘Rascal’ and its stark visual component, so many people texted me to ask if I saw it or if I knew who he was.In my recent memory, Tyler, the Creator is the last artist, to evoke such a response with the release of ‘Yonkers’, which now has 123 million views on YouTube. I remember when it had 300 views; I’m sure I have a screenshot somewhere, but let’s get back to the subject at hand. RMR released the official video for ‘DEALER’ almost a month ago, to the date, and it has 2.1 million views and counting. Some days ago, he unleashed the audio to the official remix with Future and Lil Baby. You can listen to the track below.
