  • Gunna and Asake to headline Afro+ Fest in Washington, DC

    Afro+ Fest, the East Coast’s first large‑scale festival celebrating the full spectrum of global Black music and culture, will debut Sunday, August 31, 2025, at RFK Festival Grounds in Washington, DC. The inaugural lineup features superstar headliners Gunna and Asake, leading a cross‑continental roster of A‑list talent for an expected crowd of 20,000 fans.

    Powered by the ethos “Africa, plus more”, Afro+ Fest offers a one‑day, all‑ages experience that honors both the future and the legacy of Black music—Hip‑Hop, Afrobeats, Soca, Dancehall, R&B and Amapiano—alongside immersive art installations, global cuisine, fashion activations and a marketplace of Black‑owned brands and local creators.

    A founder’s vision

    “This is the block party we’ve dreamed about for a decade”, said founder and executive producer Michael Awosanya. “With the support of Mayor Muriel Bowser and Events DC, Afro+ Fest is bringing the full diaspora to RFK—music, food, culture—driven by the people and sounds that shape us.”
    What began as a college dream has grown into a cultural movement—created by and for the communities that have defined Black music worldwide. On August 31, Afro+ Fest is set to become Washington, DC’s boldest new tradition. “The festival’s impact will be felt not only through the music, but in the real opportunities it creates for local businesses and visionaries”, Awosanya added.

  • Gunna unveils captivating ‘One of Wun’ video

    Gunna’s latest music video for ‘One of Wun’ showcases the rapper’s innovative storytelling and creative flair, presenting a compelling narrative of duality and competition. The video premiered on MTV Live, MTVU, Yo! MTV, and graced the Paramount Times Square billboards, positions Gunna in dual roles as two contrasting basketball coaches competing against each other for a championship.

    In this dynamic visual, Gunna takes on the personas of two coaches with starkly different approaches. One coach, characterized by his calm and methodical demeanor, strategizes meticulously in the locker room, treating the game like a chess match. The other, bursting with energy and a commanding presence, drives the action from the sidelines, galvanizing his players with intense passion. The tension builds as the championship hangs in the balance, but both sides of coach Gunna remain unshaken, epitomizing poise and determination.

    Gunna’s latest release comes on the heels of his international “Bittersweet” Tour, where he performed at major European festivals across Poland, Norway, France, and England. He also delivered electrifying performances at the Wireless Festival in London and the Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C.

  • Billboard 200: Gunna’s ‘One of Wun’ debuts at #2

    Gunna, the four-time GRAMMY-nominated artist and multi-talented rapper-singer, returns to the top of multiple charts with his acclaimed fifth studio album ‘One of Wun’! It notably bows at #2 on the Billboard 200, becoming his fifth consecutive Top 5 debut on the respective chart. Additionally, it captures #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. Not to mention, it stands out as the #1 debut of the week and #1 biggest week for a Warner Music Group album in 2024 so far. On DSPs, it notches a #1 Spotify Global and United States. debut in addition to vaulting to #1 on Apple Music in forty-four countries. Thus far, it has generated 170 million global streams.

    Earning critical acclaim, Rolling Stone highlighted how “Gunna shows off his melodic genius,” and Clash christened it “a potent and personal record” and attested “it contains some of the more fired-up performances of his career.”

    Right now, Gunna is canvasing the country with sold out shows on ‘The Bittersweet Tour’. It kicked off on May 4 in Columbus, Ohio at Schottenstein Center, with sixteen stops across the United States in Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Houston, Miami and more before wrapping up with a hometown performance in Atlanta at State Farm Arena on June 11.

    The artwork for One of Wun was created by Calvin Clausell Jr, featuring creative direction by Spike Jordan of The Genius Club, as well as art direction and design by Tal Midyan.

    Prior to the release, Gunna shared the singles, ‘Bittersweet’ and ‘Prada Dem’ featuring Offset, notably marking his first releases since his chart-topping studio album ‘a Gift & a Curse’.     Today, Gunna released his fifth studio album ‘One of Wun’. The twenty-track album boasts superstar collaborations with Offset, Normani, Leon Bridges and Roddy Ricch. The ‘One of Wun’ artwork was created by Calvin Clausell Jr, featuring creative direction by Spike Jordan of The Genius Club, as well as art direction and design by Tal Midyan.

    Last weekend, Gunna kicked off his highly-anticipated ‘The Bittersweet Tour’ with an electrifying show at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. The show began with an opening set from Flo Milli and continued with Gunna taking the stage to ‘Bittersweet’ for the song’s live debut. Throughout the two-hour set, he played back-to-back classic hits like ‘Pushin P’, ‘fukumean’, plus new favourites ‘Whatsapp (Wassam)’, ‘Bittersweet’ and ‘Prada Dem’. The show featured insane visuals and a massive sculpture resembling Gunna, designed by Daniel Arsham and Spike Jordan.

    ‘The Bittersweet Tour’ continues tonight, May 10, with a performance in Minneapolis at The Armory before making additional stops in Denver, Phoenix, Houston and more before wrapping up on June 11th in Atlanta, Georgia at State Farm Arena.

    Gunna joins Ebro Darden on ‘Rap Life’ on Apple Music and chats about his new album ‘WUNNA’. He tells Apple Music:

    Wunna is like me. It’s my alter-ego. You see, I’m a Gemini. Wunna come with vibes, he appeal to women, he look out for women, he take care of women. That’s the other side of me that people don’t really know about.

    On the genesis of the project, he says:

    I’m really just trying to tap in with me showing more of my personality, which is real life. I don’t really record and put it on the Internet, cuz it’s real. You gotta tap in and let your fans know you more, so that’s where this came from. I made sure I touched every vibe. I got that real sh*t, that fun sh*t, I got that girl sh*t, and then I got that calm just Gunna flow, drip.

    Atlanta’s Gunna has travelled to Jamaica to shoot his latest video for the title track off of his latest album ‘WUNNA’. The Turbo-produced track is consistent with Gunna’s repertoire. Fire production, catchy lyrics. The accompanying Spike Jordan-directed visuals are beautiful, showcasing gorgeous shots of the island. This video follows the release of his documentary, which tracks the journey to the release of ‘WUNNA’. Part two of the documentary is set to release before the album drops, this Friday (May 22).
