Song of the Day: ‘End of Daze’ by Spillage Village

Comprised of who I tend to refer to as the modern-day Soulquarians, EARTHGANG, JID, 6LACK, Mereba, Jurdan Bryant, Hollywood JB and Benji, Spillage Village is the latest supergroup to walk the face of the Earth. Opening with and addressing the racial injustices happening in America on a television screen with pictures of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and the deaths of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, the artists took the time to share what’s on their minds in the midst of a global pandemic and civil rights uprising. Each line is masterfully-performed, although sombre like the times. Watch the video for the well-produced track, which evokes the spirit of the legendary Outkast from the early 00s, below.
