Regardless of where you come from, or what you look like, it is important to remain authentic.

T

oday, an outstanding production duo called Donkong premieres the party anthem single from their latest project “No Boy” EP out now.

Whether the title is the ultimate nod to the future being female or not, it provokes thoughts. Subconsciously, the wording does something to the human mind. Whenever we hear “no,” we think “yes” or a way to mend a decision. Lately, I’ve been on the prowl; looking for women who look happy and comfortable on film. I am unsure why, but it’s a pastime for me now. Possibly, I am in search of happiness and comfortability. Or, I want to see it more. No matter the answer, the English raggamuffin toaster—Feral Is Kinky—on the record is confident. Anyone with ears can hear her. To say the things she said on wax, whether she wrote it or not, is a skill. Can you imagine having to read (or remember) the lyrics? Then, record it in the booth, the way she did?

Pulling inspiration from the popular Jamaican Dancehall culture, the Moombahton-Bass producers have done it again. It would be difficult to upstage anything that sounds as good as “Ammunition.” Add Donkong’s heavy bass single to your warm weather playlists. Then, check out the rest of their five-track EP now on Apple Music or any other digital music retailer.

The EP features Agent Lexie and Zorro, who are Jamaican and German native recording artists. In the past, I covered Agent Lexie for MTV and included one of her songs in a GrungeCake mix; so everything she does, in my opinion, is a treat. To have started in 2012, Thomas and Johnannes are doing well for themselves. They connected through their similar tastes in music. Music truly connects people like no other.
