Nigerian R&B/Alté artist SOLIS4EVR and Dreamer Isioma beg your pardon on ‘Sorry 4 Calling’: Listen

It sounds like they may have been entangled with a Yoruba demon.

This month, Nigerian R&B/Alté singer-songwriter SOLIS4EVR unleashed a track called ‘Sorry 4 Calling’ featuring Dreamer Isioma, a Nigerian-American artist identifying as they/he according to their Spotify profile with over 1.1 million monthly listeners. For the duration of the first verse, SOLIS4EVR sings about venting to a friend at two in the morning about a partner who did her wrong. Her friend doesn’t want to hear it, so she ends up calling the arse, hoping to get closure.

“Oh baby, I don’t know why I call you/
I wanna blame this whiskey/
but I just can’t stop thinking/
about the time that you weaved/
my skin in glorious poetry/
now it’s just words that don’t fit/
I need some closure/
from getting to know ya all over”

In their verse, the ‘Stop Calling the Police on Me’ singer pleads to their past love about needing closure, wanting answers. Because of the way things ended, they ended up hating themselves and the person’s behaviour unfortunately tampered with their mental health. Before their verse ends, they apologise for watching them and missing them. Now, I understand why the production makes me feel like I am on a faulty roller coaster.
