According to a Variety report, David Zaslav revealed during a Q4 earnings call that he and his team are excited about releasing Harry Potter television series. Reportedly, JK Rowling—the Harry Potter creator and author—met with Casey Bloys (HBO & Cinemax President of Programming) and Channing Dungey (Warner Bros Television Chairwoman and CEO) in London some weeks ago.
About the meeting, Zaslav says “We spent some real time with JK and her team. Both sides are just thrilled to be reigniting this franchise. Our conversations were great, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. We can’t wait to share a decade of new stories with fans around the world on Max.”
Harry Potter will make its Max premiere in 2026. It will have a total of seven seasons. The cast is yet to be confirmed.
