Today, GRAMMY Award-nominated R&B singer-songwriter GIVĒON—real name Giveon Dezmann Evans—released a breathtaking accompaniment visual for his latest track, ‘Twenties’. For the record, produced by Sevn Thomas, Maneesh Bidaye, Jahaan Sweet, Matthew Burnett, Jeff Gitty, the gifted artist poetically spills his guts about a failed relationship he endured in his early twenties — he’s twenty-nine. Confessing his thoughts about love and needing to put his partner first, their young love did not stand the test of time. On the slow eye-opening number, he reminisces about their first kiss in a rental car and “kinda [wishing their six-year relationship was reduced to] a hit and run”.

In hindsight, the popular musician feels like it was a massive waste of time, blaming himself for allowing it to go too far and writing it off as a feat of being inexperienced. Fortunately, he didn’t claim to be a know-it-all. He humbly acknowledged he was learning himself and his former partner at twenty-two years old. GIVĒON rose to prominence with Drake’s 2020 song ‘Chicago Freestyle’ featured on his ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ album), which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is currently the second most streamed track on Spotify after ‘Toosie Slide’ (over one billion streams).
