Davido appeals to Trump over Osun governorship election tensions
The Afrobeats star wants the US President watching Osun’s polls closely.

Davido has gone straight to the top! The Afrobeats megastar appealed directly to US President Donald Trump over rising tension surrounding Osun State’s governorship election. His uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election on August 15. Concerns over intimidation and possible violence have escalated quickly.
In a post on X, Davido tagged Trump and urged him, alongside the international community, to monitor the vote closely. “We do not want bloodshed”, he wrote. Nigerian authorities, he argued, must protect every voter and every vote.

The appeal follows an earlier warning. Davido had already threatened to involve Trump if the election was compromised, calling for transparency above all else. Osun’s political temperature keeps climbing—and the world is now watching.
